In order to add a Syncplicity connection in SkySync, you will need to first acquire the application token, App Key, an App Secret, then grant the account you wish to use the "access content on behalf of managed users" privilege. |
Acquiring the Application Token
1. Login to your Syncplicity account.
2. Click on the "Account" tab. Under "Profile", your application token may already be displayed. If not, there will be a "Create" button. Click it to generate the token. Note this token, as you will need to enter it in the SkySync application.

Your Syncplicity account is now ready to be added in SkySync.
Obtaining a Syncplicity App Key and App Secret
1. Open an internet browser and navigate to https://developer.syncplicity.com
2. Click "Login".
3. The Syncplicity Developer Portal automatically creates your account by appending "-apidev" to the email address you used for logging into the Developer Portal. For example, logging in using the account "user@domain.com" will result in the sandbox account "user-apidev@domain.com".
4. Create a password for the account through the prompt that automatically appears.
5. Navigate to My Apps, then select "Create App".
6. Create an app name. Select the check-box to agree to the Terms of Use.
7. An App Key and App Secret will automatically generate and populate the page. Choose Apply for Production, and set the Default Scope to Read/Write in the Default Scope option and Save.
8. Open SkySync, right-click on the Syncplicity connection and select Edit.

Creating a Syncplicity Connection
1. Enter the App Key, App Secret, and Application Token acquired from the steps above. Click OK.

2. If using "Application Token + Storage Vault Authentication" you must Authenticate the SVA by clicking "Authenticate" button that pops up, which will ask you to enter in your admin credentials for the SVA account.

3. There is a drop down field on the connection setting which allows for the creation of sync points as either standard folders or SyncDrive folders.
3. Permissions only exist on sync points and do not extend int the nested paths. When doing a permissions migration into Syncplicity only the sync points can be set.
