The Search Refine option allows you to refine search the Results list based on the criteria you specify. Currently, the search works as an “AND” statement. The custom search criteria will be saved and displayed with any selected filters.

1. Select SearchClick Refine. The Search menu displays.

2. Select the property you want to use to search. The properties list is grouped by category, and the categories appear in the same order that they display in the Results grid. If you begin typing in the field, the properties list will filter down to only properties that match what you entered.

3. Additional search filters display once you select the property.

4. Select the operator you want to use from the Select operator list. The operators vary based on the property type you select (string, integer, date, or Boolean). For Boolean properties, you will not select an operator.

5. For strings and integers, type the value you want to use in the Enter value field (A). For dates, the Pick a date field displays a calendar you will use , depending on which operator you select, you will either specify a date (or use the calendar tool to select the date(s) ) or type the value you want to use. (B). For a Boolean , you will displays True and Fales fields you can select (C).

6. Select Click Apply. The Results page will display only the files that meet the selected criteria.

File Metadata Signature and Content Signature entity types use a universally unique identifier (UUID) datatype. When searching for either of these entity types using the == and != refine options, you must enter either a 32 character UUID (the full UUID without hyphens) or 36 character UUID (the full UUID with hyphens). The Apply button will remain disabled until the appropriate character length has been entered.
