With the latest release of SkySync, you will find a newly deployed installation experience built from the ground up to offer the easiest possible method to getting started with the application.

Initial Install
To install SkySync from scratch, follow the steps below.
- Put your installer in the desired location (i.e. C:\Users\user\Desktop) and right click -> run as admin
- Select "Next" on the initial installer modal

Configure your windows service user
Please note: If you are running SQL server, ensure that this user is a local Administrator that has access to your SQL database.
- Select "Next" to begin installation. To note, this will install PostGreSQL by default. This is intended.
- You may choose a different database further along in the installation process.
- Once complete, leave "Launch Skysync" checked, and select "Finish"
A new browser window will launch with the FRE experience.
- Select "Get Started"
- Then Select "Continue" on the following screen
Here you can begin building your desired database. For ease of use, we've offered a "default database" which upon selection will deploy a local embedded version of PostGreSQL
- If you select "Use a different database", you will have the option to either create your own PostGreSQL instance, or deploy to SQL

If you choose to not utilize the default feature, you will be greeted with a configuration wizard which allows you to select your desired database.

After selection, you will be prompted to provide connection details.
- Populate these fields with the appropriate items
- Select "Test Connection" when complete to ensure that your database has a valid connection

Select "Next" and "Create Database"
- A loading screen will appear stating your database is being configured
- Once complete, you will be asked to restart SkySync
- Note that this will not restart your computer - only the database service needs to be restarted
Once database configuration is complete, you will be asked to enter and validate your license.

Select "Get started" and enter your license on the following page
- This will validate your installation of SkySync
- You will then be prompted to accept the EULA
- Read through this document and select "Accept"
Once accepted, you will be prompted to create you admin account. Select "Get started"

Here you can create your administrator user for SkySync.
- Note that this user has all permissions to the application by default
- Username and Password are the only required fields
- Select "Next" after these fields are completed, and review your settings on the following page.

If you are satisfied with your credentials, select "Create".You will then be prompted to "Restart and launch"
- Note that this will not restart your computer - only the database service needs to be restarted
- Restart and launch may take a few seconds to process; no loading icon is present
Login with your Administrator credentials, and begin using SkySync!
Upgrade
The upgrade path with the new installation experience has been curated to be as simple as possible to reduce any friction during your upgrade. Follow the steps below to complete the upgrade process.
- Stop any currently running SkySync service

- You will be prompted with a new Ready to Install modal
- Select "Next"
- The upgrade process will now begin in the current modal

DryvIQ provides regular maintenance releases and quarterly feature releases. Details for each release can be reviewed on the DryvIQ Migrate Release Notes page. Updating DryvIQ ensures you have all the latest features and fixes. You can identify the version of DryvIQ you are using by clicking your initials on the top-right side of the page and selecting About form the menu that displays. Compare the version number you are using to the current version number available.

DryvIQ supports upgrading from four versions back, so refer to the DryvIQ Upgrade Policies and Procedures to ensure your upgrade won’t require assistance from DryvIQ Customer Support. If your DryvIQ version meets the upgrade requirements, you can upgrade your DryvIQ using the instructions provided in the upgrade guide that corresponds with the database installation you are using. Refer to the related pages listed below for more information.
