Password Change/Expiration
If the password for the account that was used to make the connection in SkySync has changed or expired, SkySync will return this failure in the Job History whenever the job executes. In addition, more infrequently, the access token can expire over a long period of time naturally (this can take months). If this is the cause, the solution is the same as below.
To fix this, you must re-enter the login credentials in SkySync. The following steps detail how to re-enter login credentials:
1. From the home screen in SkySync, click on the Navigation tab to go to the Navigation panel.
2. On the left side of the screen, right-click on the connection the job is using, and select Edit.
3. In the screen that appears, re-enter the user-name and password for the storage platform account.
The following screenshot shows the box connector. The screen you will see will depend upon the connector you need to re-enter credentials for. No matter which connector you use the screen will appear identical to the screen that is used when setting up a new connection.
If the above steps do not work, and the connector you are having trouble with is Box, please verify the steps detailed in this article and try again.
Unable to obtain a valid access token error
Recent updates at Box may have caused the SkySync app to become disabled by default.
Symptoms leading to this may be:
- SkySync was functioning properly and is now reporting: The application was unable to obtain a valid access token to the storage platform.
- When creating a box connector, you see the following: Disabled by Administrator
To remedy this, log on to Box as the Admin then perform the following to enable the SkySync app:
You must log in as the Admin account, Co-admin accounts will not see the same options.
1.Click Admin Console
2.Click the settings 'Gear'
3.Click Enterprise Settings
4.Search for SkySync in the Individual Application Controls
5.Make Sure SkySync is available.

Special Notes
1. When setting up a box connection you need to use the admin or a co-admin account.
2. If you have an Enterprise License the "Box Content Admin" allows for access to all user accounts on the Enterprise account.
3. The maximum upload file size is controlled by Box. Here is a link to their support article -
4. Box has a monitoring webpage to check for outages and issues, please check https://status.box.com/ for any issues with the Box service when experiencing problems.
5. Box accounts that do not have admin level access cannot remove group permissions on files during a job transfer.

This often occurs when the box user has not accepted the box terms of service. Reviewing Fiddler trace logs will reveal a response from Box : "User must accept custom terms of service before action can be taken"
This results in the 400 Bad Request Error being returned to SkySync.
To resolve the issue, have the user log-in to Box and accept the terms of service.
6. There is a known issue with the Box connector. If "Exclude files in shared folders" is enabled, and there are multiple shared folders with the same name owned by different users in Box, the job will return the failure: "The truncated name would result in name conflicts on the storage platform." There is no workaround for this other than renaming the folders.
