When upgrading from a trial to production version of SkySync, sometimes it is necessary to completely uninstall SkySync. To completely uninstall SkySync, follow these steps:
- Start by uninstalling SkySync from the Windows Control Panel, Programs and Features
- Delete the C:\ProgramData\PortalArchitects\ Directory NOTE: By default C:\ProgramData is a hidden directory
- Delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\SkySync\ Directory
- SkySync is now completely removed from the system
To show the hidden directory, follow these steps based on your Operating System:
Windows 2008, 2008 R2, Windows 7
Open Windows Explorer, navigate to the C drive, then hit the "Alt" key.
A new set of menu items appears:
1. Click on "Tools"
2. Click on "Folder Options"
The Folder Options window opens:
1. Click the "View" tab
2. Select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives"
3. Click "OK"
The ProgramData directory now appears:
Windows 8, 8.1, Windows Server 2012
Open Windows Explorer, then navigate to the C drive.
1. Click the "View" tab
2. Select "Hidden Items"
3. ProgramData directory now appears
Delete the Portal Architects Directory
SkySync has now been completely removed from the system.
