Secondary Scans

Secondary Scans

On This Page

Overview

The Secondary Scans page displays all the scans for a primary scan (mapped location scans or document set scans). This page allows you to start scans or remove them if you don't want to scan the content in a specific path. The information on the page varies depending on whether you are viewing the secondary scans for a mapped location or a document set. For a mapped location, the grid displays only the path and scan status.

For document sets, the grid displays the same information for a primary scan: scan name, connection, path, and scan status.

Configuring Actions for Secondary Scans

If a scan uses a document set as its location, it can include multiple connections and platforms. Some actions require location-specific configuration. When a document set scan uses such an action set, you must configure the action for each secondary scan so the configuration aligns with the platform used in that scan.

  1. Click the ellipses () at the end of the row.

  2. Click Configure actions from the menu that displays.

  3. The Configure Location-Specific Actions modal displays and lists the actions that need to be configured for the scan.

  4. Click Edit next to the action and complete the configuration. Refer to “Configuring Actions” for information on configuring each action.

  5. Click Confirm to save the action configuration.

  6. Edit additional actions, if applicable.

  7. Click Done on the Configure Location-Specific Actions modal to close it.

Searching Secondary Scans

The number of secondary scans is displayed above the first column of the grid. Use the scroll options or buttons at the bottom of the grid to navigate through the pages. You can also search for a specific scan using the Refine option. This search is a case-sensitive search, so the search text must match the content exactly. The search works as an “AND” statement when more than one option is applied.

  • Path: Search for the scan based on the exact path, which is displayed in the Location column. This is an exact search, so you must enter the exact path to return results. This option is available for both mapped location and data set secondary scans.

  • Scan Date: Search for a scan based on the date the scan last ran. Select the mode (between, on, after, or before) and the date you want to use. This option is available for both mapped location and data set secondary scans.

  • Has executions?: View only scans that have run. Select True to view scans that have run at least once. Select False to view scans that have not run yet. This option is available for both mapped location and data set secondary scans.

  • Storage platform: Search for scans on a specific storage platform. You will select the platform from a list of available platforms. This option is available only for document set secondary scans.

  • Impersonation User: Search for the scan based on the user being impersonated. Note that not all platforms support impersonation. This search is exact, so the entry must match the user exactly. This option is available only for document set secondary scans.

  • Connection name: Search for a scan based on the connection name, which is the first line of text displayed in the Connection column. This is an exact search, so you must enter the exact connection name. This option is available only for data set secondary scans.

  • Connection user: Search for the scan based on the user account used to create the connection, which is the second line of text displayed in the Connection column. This search is exact, so the entry must match the user exactly. This option is available only for data set secondary scans.

The Search field in the menu filters the search options only; it does not perform a search on the text entered.
