This configuration setting is per-instance, meaning that in deployments where there are multiple SkySync Servers, this setting

will affect each SkySync server individually and the bandwidth utilization is cumulative across all SkySync servers affecting all running jobs.

By following the steps below, it is possible to adjust the bandwidth utilization in SkySync

1. Click on the Settings button in the top-right corner of the application.

2. Click on the Performance tab.

3. Select the Limit maximum bandwidth check-box and enter the desired value.

Please note that the configuration setting is in KB/second or Kilobytes / second.  Network Bandwidth is typically measured in Mbps or Megabits / second.

Data Rate conversions are based on "Decimal multiples of the units" where:

  • 1 Kilobit per second = 1,000 bits per second

  • 1 Kilobyte per second = 8,000 bits per second

The formula for calculating maximum bandwidth in KBps is:

( Mbps * 125 ) / Nodes = KBps

To set a maximum bandwidth utilization of 50 Mbps where there is one SkySync Server, enter 6,250 in the Limit maximum bandwidth box.

To set a maximum bandwidth utilization of 50 Mbps where there are four SkySync Servers, enter 1,560 in the Limit maximum bandwidth box.
