Overview
The Remote sites set of features allows administrators to easily set up multiple instances of SkySync at distributed locations and configure/monitor them from a single centrally managed console.
Verify the Executable Location
Before you can create the remote site, you must verify that the SkySync installation executable is in the proper location in order for the application to create the remote sites package. Review the appSettings.json file on the machine that will be creating the remote site. The packageDirectory indicates where the SkySync installation executable need to be located. If the directory does not contain the installation executable, the ZIP package will not be created, and only a .json file will download.
Crate the Remote Site
- Select Remote Sites.
- Select Create remote site.
- Enter a name for the remote site you are creating and select Done.
- The new remote site displays in the on the Remote Sites page.
- Select Download to download the installation package for the remote site.
Important
A ZIP package should be downloaded. If only a appSsettings.json file downloads, the installation executable is not in the location listed in the packageDirectory setting in the appSettings.json file on this machine.
Other Remote Site Options
- Rename: Rename the remote site.
- Download: Download the remote site installation package for this site.
- Disconnect: Disconnect this remote site.
