The Apply Metadata action allows you to specify the metadata that should be applied to the file when it is added to the tracking group. When you configure the data sources, you will specify the Box Shield Classification Label that should be applied. When SkySync adds a file to the corresponding Tracking Group, it will apply the Box Shield Classification Label to the file.

  1. Within the policy, assign the Apply Metadata action to a Tracking Group.

  2. Navigate to the Data sources page within the policy and ensure the Box data source has been added to the policy.

  3. Select Configure next to the data source.

  4. The configure actions modal appears. It displays all tracking groups that contain actions that require configuration.

  5. Select Edit for the tracking group action you want to configure. The Configure actions modal appears.

  6. Select Box Shield. Classification from the Metadata field list.

  7. Type the label name in the Value field. Again, this field is case sensitive and must match what displays in the Classification Label Name in the Box UI.

  8. Select Apply changes.

  9. Select Done.
