Running a Discover Scan
The date of the last scan displays next to the Scan Now button. You can manually trigger a Discover scan at any time using this button. When you click Scan now, a menu displays and lists all the data sources assigned to Discover. You can scan a data source by clicking the Scan now button next to that data source.
Once a scan is triggered, the Scan now button next to the data source will change to a label that displays the scan status. A “Running” status indicates the scan is in progress. A “Queued” status indicates the scan is waiting to start. The scan will run based on its priority in the queue.
If a scan shows “Paused” as the status, you can resume it on the Scans page. Find the scan in the scan list and click the Scan now button.
The menu initially displays 15 data sources. If you have more than 15 data sources, you will see a Load more link. Use this link to display the next 15 data sources. To close the menu, click the main Scan now button used to open the menu or click outside of the menu.
If you want to run more than one scan, you can start multiple scans at the same time from the Scans page.
