Analysis of NFS Content
DryvIQ’s Content Insights gathers a wide array of file statistics presented in visual dashboards. All graphs and data can be “clicked-through,” and results can be exported to .CSV format for additional Excel-based analysis and reporting disseminated to users for modified communications/change management activities.
Content Insights can be displayed for both files and data. You can analyze and sort content by:
File size
File type
File extensions
Last modified date
Folder depth
Largest files
Largest folders
Most shared

Analysis of NFS Permissions
DryvIQ’s Sharing Insights gathers a wide array of sharing behaviors that you can filter by quantity and/or type - shared, not shared, and who content is most often being shared to. All graphs and data can be “clicked-through” and results can be exported to .CSV format for additional Excel based analysis and reporting disseminated to users for modified communications/change management activities.

Simulation of “Friction Points”
DryvIQ’s Simulation capabilities that are combined with Analysis makes live API calls to the Source and Destination systems to accurately simulate the data transfer without moving any data. This simulation will identify any files that may cause transfer issues and automatically flag, group, and report to system administrators any files that the platform cannot automatically remediate. All graphs and data can be “clicked-through,” and results can be exported to .CSV format for additional Excel-based analysis and reporting disseminated to users for modified communications/change management activities. DryvIQ Simulation automatically classifies content into four main categories:
Transferred: This identifies the content that will transfer with no issues or remediation required.
Ignored: This identified the content that DryvIQ has been configured to “ignore” based on applied filtering rules.
Revised: This identifies the content that DryvIQ has automatically remediated for issues such as invalid characters.
Flagged: This identifies content that DryvIQ simply cannot transfer. This is most commonly due to platform limitations (such as content size larger than what is supported). DryvIQ provides the root cause for the flag as well as recommendations on how to repair the file.

DryvIQ Platform Comparison Tool
Additionally, DryvIQ’s platform comparison feature is a great educational tool to visualize “friction points” and platform compatibility prior to any migration.
Analysis and Simulation Enhances Migration Strategy
Active vs. Inactive Content
The exact definition of “Active” vs. “Inactive” content can vary on a case-by-case basis, but the above analysis and reporting will empower your business to identify:
Content footprint
Content that is being modified frequently
Content permissions applied
Content that is modified frequently would often be described as “Active” content. Additionally, content that has permissions applied to many users or groups would also typically be described as “Active” content.
With the level of detail provided with the DryvIQ Analysis and Simulation, your organization can make informed decisions on content that should be migrated to the new platform, what shouldn’t, or potentially what content should be migrated to an “archival” platform.
Content that Cannot Move or Should Move to Another Platform
As denoted in the sections above around Content Analysis and a Simulation, DryvIQ will provide detailed insights into:
Content that has not been modified recently that may be a candidate to leave in place and disposition appropriately or move to more economical archival storage
Content that cannot be moved due to platform limitations (such as files greater than supported file size), how many files there are, and who owns them
Many other use cases can be applied here based on the detailed Analysis and Simulation
