Activity

Activity

Overview

The Activity report maintains an audit log of activity for each scanned item. It allows you to view both informational and error activity for items.

The timeout for matching regex patterns is 5 minutes per pattern in an entity type. If a match takes longer than the timeout, an error will be logged in the policy's Activity report, indicating that the regex engine timed out.

Permission actions for Microsoft Office/Teams Sites only apply to permissions at the Direct Access level. Site permissions (subgroup level) are not affected by permission actions. If you select to remove or modify permissions at the Site permission (sub-group level), you will see a log entry indicating, “No matching permissions were found.” This is because DryvIQ cannot detect the permissions at this level.

Filtering Activity

You can filter the activity based on audit level or job.

Audit level: Allows you to view specific audit information tracked for the policy. Note that some audit levels require that the level be set on the policy before it can be tracked and, therefore, viewed here. The available audit levels are:

  • Trace activity: Shows the most detailed audit. It shows every step the system took. Because Trace is below the default capture threshold, this filter typically returns no results unless the job/location is specifically configured to log at Trace level.

  • Debug activity: Shows items the system tracked but didn't act on, if recorded. Because Debug is below the default capture threshold, this filter typically returns no results unless the job/location is specifically configured to log at Debug level.

  • Informational activity: Shows normal, successful operations. Since this is the default capture level, this audit level is reliably populated.

  • Warning activity: Shows non-critical issues that didn't stop the job.

  • Error activity: Shows failures that need attention.

Job: Allows you to view just the activity for a selected job. This is useful when you have multiple data sources assigned to the same policy.
